The Tata Group houses its consumer business under Tata Consumer Products Ltd( TCPL) which also sells packaged mineral water under the brand Himalayan and with brands as Tata Copper Plus Water and Tata Gluco in the hydration member. 


Tata Group is understood to have initiated addresses with Bisleri International to acquire a stake in the packaged water company, according to sources. 

  

It's in a veritably primary stage and would be unseasonable to say a deal would fructify, a person in the know of the development said.

The addresses are understood to have been initiated by the Tata group FMCG arm TCPL. 


Still, when communicated both the companies denied opining over the development. 

 

“ Tata Consumer Products doesn't note on request enterprise, ” said a Tata Consumer Products prophet in ane-mailed reply. 


 A Bisleri International prophet also said it “ does not note on request enterprise ”. 

 

According to assiduity spectators, if the deal is finalised, it would give the Tata group FMCG arm a larger play into the fast- growing bottled water member. 

 

The Indian bottled water request was valued at over USD2.43 billion( around Rs,315 crore) in FY2021, said a report from request exploration and premonitory TechSci Research. 


It's anticipated to grow at a CAGR of13.25 per cent on account of adding disposable income, rising health and hygiene mindfulness, and adding product invention, the report added. 

 

“ Bottled water is gaining fashionability among consumers because it's allowed to be more aseptic than loose normal water in the request, which isn't good for health and is unsafe to drink, ” the report said. 


Several companies including Coca- Cola India through its brand Kinley, PepsiCo’s Aquafina, Bailley from Parle Agro and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation( IRCTC)’s Rail Neer contend in the member but they all track the request leader Bisleri. 


TCPL, which has been formed after incorporating the consumer products business of Tata Chemicals with Tata Global potables, aspires to be a redoubtable player in the FMCG order, by expanding its play into the being order and venturing into new areas. 


In its rearmost periodic report, TCPL said “ with strong product invention, investment in strengthening our brands and strategic accessions, we're well on track in our trip to come a leading FMCG company ”. 

 

Ramesh J Chauhan led Bisleri International operates in the member with bottled water brand Bisleri and spring water Vedica. 


It's also present in effervescent drinks with brands – Spyci, Limonata, Fonzo and PinaColada. 

 

Chauhan has also created colorful super brands similar as ThumsUp, Gold Spot, Maaza and Limca, which was acquired by the Coca- Cola Company in 1993 when the Atlanta- headquartered company hadre-entered the Indian request.
